After months of winter's monochromatic landscape,

Spring finally arrived and broke free of the dead scenery surrounding us. The snow melted away, the trees woke up, and blossoms begin to share their beauty again. It was the perfect backdrop for this beautiful family mini at the University of Maine last May.


The adorable Bryant family met me on the UMaine campus with their six-month-old baby, Weston. Six months is such a special stage. Curious about the world, full of smiles, learning independence, while still not quite mobile yet. It makes for the most fun, interactive moments.

The campus was beginning to burst with color. Honestly, after the long stretch of dead Maine scenery, the fresh green leaves and blossoms were a literal breath of fresh air. We wandered along paths, stopping wherever the light and color looked just right for candid moments.

Of course, baby giggles could be heard several times. Six-month-olds are wonderfully expressive, and every new sound or silly face from Mom and Dad (and me) was met with bright eyes, wide smiles, and silly expressions of his own.

We had such a wonderful time walking and exploring. Weston loved to feel the grass on his feet and his parents holding him close. It was a the perfect evening of capturing memories and milestones.

Sessions like these remind us that photographs aren’t just about the scenery or the season. They’re about preserving the memories. The tiny feet, the gummy smiles, and the way a baby fits perfectly in their parents’ arms. It all goes by too fast.
